From Hopland to north of Fort Bragg, and numerous points in between, you’ll love Mendocino County wineries and wine tasting. Mendocino winemakers create balanced, pure wines from grapes grown on unspoiled land, wines that express the individuality of Mendocino’s 11 diverse appellations.

According to Mendocino Winegrowers, Inc., winemaking has a long history in Mendocino County since the first Italian immigrants settled the green hillsides. Today, 108 local wineries continue the tradition, encompassing a total area of 2.4 million acres, of which 18,800 acres have been planted to grapevines. The majority of the region’s 570 vineyards have a median size of 14 acres and remain in the hands of family farmers. Of the total acreage, 690 acres are Demeter Certified Biodynamic, 3,950 are certified organic, and 32,000 acres of land are certified Fish Friendly. For more information, visit www.mendowine.com.
