Looking for locally handmade Christmas gifts? Or homemade cookies, gingerbread people, or other baked goods? Maybe some jams, jellies, chutneys and Quinault pickles for your holiday table? Find them all at the Rainbow School Craft Fair on Saturday, December 8th, at Preston Hall in Mendocino, next to the Presbyterian Church. This year, the Mendocino Study Club’s annual Country Christmas bazaar will be part of the Crafts Fair. The event runs from 10 am to 4 pm.
Children and their families can meet Santa at 11 am, check who is on his list, and sing a few holiday songs together.
Lunch of a wide selection of warm yummy soups is available, as well as hot cider, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, all at nominal cost.
Handmade items from the Study Club women include lavender sachets, potholders, special gift creations, holiday decorations, tea towels, and much more. Don’t forget the wonderful pine cone bird feeders for the birds in your garden this winter. Professional vendors will be there with their hand made goods, including fresh wreaths, jewelry, antique treasures, handmade dolls, costume capes, knit hats, dog treats & more!
The event includes the Study Club Raffle featuring dozens of valuable prizes such as brunches and dinners at local restaurants, an overnight at Benbow Inn and numerous gift certificates donated by our generous local business supporters. Tickets are available at the Craft Fair, or from Study Club members. You do not need to be present to win. All proceeds from the raffle and Study Club sales go to support local scholarships and the Mendocino Library.
Rainbow School will be conducting a fun and exciting silent auction of some of this season’s Ugliest Holiday Sweaters ever!! You can be sure to find one you fall for—so bid high to win! Auction closes at 3:30 pm. Rainbow celebrates its fortieth year in our community this year, serving the need for early childhood education, and is looking for support to rebuild the playground sandbox and climbing structure. Proceeds from this Craft Fair and Auction will go to the playground expense, and to scholarship fund as well.
